I hope not. In my opinion anyone who would imply that this has anything to do with child molestation would in fact just reinforce the Dubs opinion that apostates are angry "mentally deceased" lunatics. -

Are single sisters happier?
by Esmeralda001 inthis question is for the ladies out there, but if you are a man and you'd like to share your thoughts on the following topic you are welcomed to do so.
given the wt society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth".
in such case, did you sometimes feel that you were missing out?

"Sisters" tend to look for "spiritual" men in the congregation. The Borg has twisted their thinking so much that most "sisters" look for outward appearances such as titles, "privileges" and service. Instead of looking for someone who is compatible and well suited for them. I don't know how many times while I was "in" and single that I heard the saying that there just wasn't enough single "brothers"; what they really meant was that there wasn't enough Borg zombies. -

JW Religion same as Stock Market/Gambling (Concept)
by Da.Furious infor the last few days i was discussing with a colleague of mine at work about the stock market and how some people, even when losing money, they will hold onto their shares because someone said they will rise again.
this may lead to lost opportunities or even losing all their money instead of de-risking and offsetting loses by buying another stock, in other word jumping ship.. this got me thinking about jws (knowing that i am still in).
took one step back and looked at our family and what we have done by sticking to this religion.

I disagree with your analogy. Do to past experience I have some conference in the stock market, but zero in the Watchtower. Most funds will recover over . The damage done by the Borg however is not so fast to mend. -

Disgusted By Today's WT Study 12/6/15
by JW_Rogue inno, not because of the message of deluding yourself into seeing the hand of god working in mundane wt activities.
that is to be expected from this org.
what really bothered me was the quote in paragraph one.

Ha-ha on the paragraph that referenced Elijah not seeing the hand of god I made the comment: "here we see that Elijah the profit physically saw fire come out of heaven, later on he still had trouble seeing 'gods hand'. So if we today find it hard to see gods hand in our lives, whether through a watchtower or a meeting, it makes us no worse than Elijah."
You should have seen there faces! I got quite a few looks my way.

Sex and Marriage
by nicolaou inmost religions indoctrinate a standard sexual 'morality' into their followers.
sex before marriage is wrong, gay sex is wrong, same sex marriage is wrong, masturbation is wrong.. let's not turn this into another religion bashing thread (too easy), i was wondering how much of that pre-packaged thinking you still hold to?.
i still value marriage, more than ever.

I still believe in the sanctity of marriage. With that stated I believe that adultery is far worse than formication. -

I think whether it's inappropriate or not depends on the relationship this elder has with your family doesn't it? -

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

Once got pulled in the back room by two elders. Why? I hadn't voted on the C.O.'s expense reimbursement. -

How many teens stay because they have their eye on someone they hope to marry?
by purrpurr ini was just watching a documentary film about the amish.
this one girl who left said she didn't leave until her early twenties because as a teen until then she had her eye on one of the boys in the church.
she had a crush on him and hoped to marry him.

Looking at the pics of Warwick... I'm chocked.
by StephaneLaliberte ini am truly chocked and baffled by the number of volunteers they got for this project; especially in the states.
looking at one of their articles on the matter, they stated that a large portion of the printing work was delegated to other locations than ny, thus, they did not need as much space as they did in ny.
also, it was stated that operation cost in nyc were expensive.

Instructions from the Old Elder's Book
by John Aquila inlast night i was looking over the notes on my old elders book and one of the instructors told us to write this down.
"when you want to get the friends to believe and obey anything, just keep saying it over and over and over and eventually they will believe it and follow whatever they are being told.
when i went back to school, i learned this quote in one of my world history classes..

Why would anyone question the validity of Aquila's story? I've known and have heard of a lot of stupid reasons people have gotten DFed. I've even been told by an elder (my BIL) that an investigative committee will be formed if they find out you've gone to a strip club.
